Guiding Customers to Your Site

If you have a site and you are not happy with it, the Village Navigator can help.  Let’s look at a couple of common misunderstandings that people have.

When someone goes to Google or any search engine they type in a word of something they are looking for.  This is called a keyword. (See what a keyword here is)

village7
This is a long tail search phrase for something very specific in a specific location.
You will then notice the return that you get from Google.

The websites on the left side of Google Are the “organic search results”
The websites on the right  are the Paid search results, also known as ads or PPC.

Getting listed or ranked on each side has a different strategy.  The right side is strictly an ad based on the keyword.  You bid on the key word and whoever is willing to pay the most comes up in order.

The organic side of the house is more powerful and operates on how well your site is optimized ( coded and linked) To get on this side is free but takes time.  Free is better and more powerful.

So how does this relate to guiding your customers to you?

If your site is not optimized for the keyword (such as plastic widgets), than you will not have the opportunity to rank for that keyword.  If you do not rank then your customers will not find you.  There are other factors besides a well optimized site that helps you be found such as link building.  You can see that article here.

Today more and more people are turning to the internet and typing in long tail phrases to find what they are looking for.  There are lots of people that are looking for your goods and services.  Having a website is a point of credibility.  It looks professional to have a site and big credible businesses know this.  Smaller businesses can benefit from having knowledge of how the system works and capitalize on having a well planned site.  If you do not have the site we can build it from the ground up.

If you do have a site, a business strategy can make all the difference in the world.  Let us guide you in fixing your site so that you can be a player in the industry you choose to be a part of.
